Simulation

*Disclaimer. 99.9% of the story here is as per exactly what my dream was. only the "jetpack" was made up. I actually floated and flew instead of using a jetpack. but a jetpack seemed more realistic for most readers*

I was a stealth team commander leading an espionage mission infiltrating an enemy building. It was a mall actually, a vast mall. The mall has many resemblances to human architecture but something was a bit off. The designs were a bit more strange in the sense that some of the architecture does not seem physically possible and seemed to defy the natural laws of gravity and Newtonian mechanics. I couldn't care less since I didn't know I was in an alien world, to begin with. my mission was to infiltrate and eliminate any resistance covertly along the way.

My rag-tag team consisted of some human-looking men (humans as I was told later) riding on what seemed to be donkey-like creatures but much larger and rounder in size. they sounded like donkeys moaning when forced to move forward. I was leading the charge into the 3rd floor of enemy territory which was an open courtyard in the middle with buildings surrounding it from all 4 corners. There were many red lasers from snipers around.

We were sneaking along the edge of the courtyard under the shelter where we hoped to remain undetected. Suddenly, some soldiers spotted us and we were compromised.

They raised the alarm and suddenly enemy beings were coming from all directions. Most of the enemy soldiers morphed into hideous creatures with hundred of fangs and claws. My team scattered in panic and I shouted for everyone to retreat. I saw some monsters attacking one of my men and I tried to fire the only weapon that I had, which was an odd-looking lightweight shape pistol that doesn't seem to work. But nothing came out of it. Honestly, I didn't know how to operate the pistol either, and how I came to have it in my possession was mysterious as well. One of my female commanders was trying to give me last-minute instructions to operate the pistol. I took a glance at her and realized she was really pretty, sporting short shoulder-length hair. I told her, "Let's just get the hell outta here!"

I stayed back to ensure all my men were safe and I was the last guy fending off the monsters. Little did I know my efforts were futile as our immediate exit was also flooded by monsters coming out of almost every direction. My men were getting eaten. Some soldiers went into suicidal mode and tried to kill some monsters with their knives in a last desperate attempt. But the monsters simply chewed through their flesh unaffected by their knife attempts. Other men just cowered in a corner unable to move, paralyzed in fear.

I continue to run as well. This mall was a huge maze. I couldn't find the exit anywhere. I then saw my female commander wandering aimlessly in the halls while her team was getting chewed. Her eyes were filled with emptiness and it was as though she lost all hope. I told her, to stop wandering around and get the hell outta there. I grabbed her hand and ran with her dodging all kinds of monsters.

I tried to turn back to save some more men, but a handful of them got eaten. Some were my closest commanders, but I only managed to save the girl and another soldier. while I was turning back to save more men, I saw a huge worm-like monster that looks like the worm from Dune, pummeling through the hallway of the mall. the entire mall was collapsing. I saw both of my team members had found the exit and I dashed after them toward the exit.

We burst through the door and surprisingly we were very high up. we were not on the ground floor but the mall-like structure was high up in the sky. we had no time to even contemplate and simply continued running and leaped off the edge with a second of thought. I thought I was going to die from the height, but surprisingly there was a water slide below. It was an extreme water theme park where people leaped off the edge above the clouds down into the pool very far down. it was akin to skydiving because we couldn't even see the pool.

eventually, we landed in the pool and I breathe a sigh of relief that we had escaped the worm. but my relief was short-lived. surrounding us was chaos. more men were being eaten left right and center. In fact, the entire city was in chaos already. The only man that I just saved was leaped upon and eaten right in front of my eyes. I pulled the only remaining lady commander and tried to run, but she just stood still. her eyes gleamed with evilness as she revealed that she is actually a monster spy.

I was so taken aback by the sudden betrayal. I realized I was all alone. I started crying and found a jetpack and started to fly as far away as possible from the wretched city into the distant burning desert. All that was running through my mind was sadness and hopelessness. All my men were dead. I was the only one left.

I managed to reach some distance into the desert and suddenly that female commander appeared behind me and called me out. "Hey, if you want to escape this all, just say and we will pull you out. you have completed your test and are successful. congrats and well done!" I cried "please help..."

I blacked out and then I was shown a cutscene like in a movie, where these same monsters were attacking the city. this city was larger. the monsters pummelled the front gate with energy guns and raw fists pounding.

The view I was taken gradually moved further into the city which showcased the multiple layers of defense the city had. The central part of the city grew higher and higher into the sky in which the utmost central part of the city is where the high council of the city was at.

A device that's similar to a VR headset, was suddenly removed from my head. I soon realized I was in a simulation all along and the scene where my infiltration team was eaten alive by monsters was simply a simulation.  It was so immersive, that I couldn't tell a single difference between reality and VR.  I blinked and looked around and realise I was seated at a large round high tech table with a bunch of human-like beings whom I couldn't recognize at all. Seated on the right next to me, was another beautiful young but elegant lady who seemed like an authoritative figure at the table. I assumed they were aliens from another planet. In fact, I had no prior recollection of anything related to an abduction, before my life as a human. But they all look like humans to me.

Everything was then explained to me by a beautiful lady seated next to me. She introduced herself as the simulation program lead and revealed to me that everything I experience prior was actually a simulation and that I had volunteered to undergo the simulation training program designed to develop my latent psychic powers. She also mentioned that I was the only successful candidate to pass the program without any side effects of psychological trauma. Other members at the table seemed more authoritative and senior. it then hit me that I was seated at the very same high council table I was shown in the VR and that the monsters banging at the gate were real.

Then one of the elders of the council stated that now that I have woken up from the simulation, I should immediately put my physic powers to work or else the city would be destroyed. I tried to test on one large monster in the distance, banging on the 2nd layer wall of the defense of the city. I focused my mind and waved my hand a little and the monster started moaning in pain and began to disintegrate. I decided to end the monster siege and eliminate all the monsters at once. It took a heavy strain on my mind and I was exhausted but then the job was done, right where I was seated. 

The members were happy that it was working and cheering with joy. The program lead exclaimed that I was so powerful and that I had exceeded her expectations. I noticed then she held my hand and started inching towards me. She suddenly jumped onto my lap and started making out with me, much to my shock and amazement and to the amusement of the council members. Since she was so beautiful like an elf and I was still fresh out of simulation shock, I just gave in and assumed she was my love interest since I had pretty much lost all my memory prior to the simulation. Also, since the council members didn't seem shocked or annoyed, but amused, I assumed it was alright then. I then started treating her as my girlfriend.

I was still quite bitter, upset, and slightly traumatized by what I had experienced in VR and asked her, how would I know if you are not one of the monsters like in the VR. I was afraid of being betrayed again. She rests assured me that the simulations aren't a reflection of reality. She sincerely seemed very infatuated with me. I also noticed she didn't use the term human to assure me that she was one and still had the lingering assumption that she was an alien from another planet that looks exactly like a human. For me, I knew I was human, but what was she, I wondered?

Then another beautiful voluptuous girl came along. She had long black hair and she was dressed very provocatively as well. I had totally no idea who she was. I tried to ignore her but she kept clinging on to me, grabbing my arm. I tried to focus on the team lead, but the black-haired girls kept trying to get my attention. I then saw that the team lead was ok with her behavior and I decided to give in as well. she introduced her to me as my second girlfriend and I was like stunned for a second. "What?! I had two girlfriends?" I shouted out loud in my mind.

They decided to bring me around the city. I passed by some hallways and I suddenly saw some familiar faces. "Oh my god!" I exclaimed. "Are you alright?" I was talking to someone who looks exactly like he was out of the simulation too and was one of my soldiers in the simulation. He was rubbing his head in a daze as he came out of his simulation room and looked very happy to see me. But it also seemed that he was traumatized to a point that he didn't look as sharp as when he was in the simulation. He looked like his brain had been fried a little. There were many familiar faces I recognized coming out of the room who looked in a similar fashion, although some looked better than others.

Eventually, we arrived at another mall. And no, this mall wasn't filled with enemies or monsters. it was bustling with people and everywhere looked like a futuristic mall. The second girl wanted to go shopping, so I just simply tagged along. The team lead also tagged along and started window shopping.

*Edit - the shopping session had too many intricate and boring details. The second girl also did a lot of hanky panky stuff with me. I'm too lazy to document that right now. I will document that later. If I still can remember. Also, prefer to omit the hanky-panky stuff as it doesn't add value to the story*

Suddenly I saw another girl that looked very familiar stalking me in the background behind a rack of clothes. I immediately recognized her as the short hair girl in my simulation. she was one of my commanders, but she looked different somehow. she was still pretty, but she seemed to be sad and demoralized. she started to approach me cautiously and asked if she could join us in shopping. I said, why not? Then she suddenly hugged me and said she missed me a lot. Once again, I was shocked and confused. I asked her what she meant by that, and she said that she had loved me for a very long time, and that she loved me so much that she even risked herself going into the simulation to help me out with my training. I was shocked and taken aback by this girl. she seems like another obsessive girl aside from my already existing two. The second girl also exclaimed "join us!", and both the team lead and she didn't seem to mind I had a third girl. Then it came to be that I had a third girlfriend. In my mind, I couldn't care less anymore. I was too tired from the psychic strain from destroying the monsters and still suffering the effects of simulation shock, therefore I decided to just go with the flow.

We went for more shopping than I can remember and the second girl handed her bag to me and asked me to help her hold it. The team lead saw my confused look and explained to me that they also had a similar culture to humans. I assumed it was the human culture that women would ask the men to hold their bags for them. The 2nd girl then took out a pair of scissors and I asked, "What are you doing?" she then proceeded to cut one of the handles of the bag and re-tied it to be more convenient for me to handle the bag. The bag looked very weird and I had not seen any design such as this when I was in my human world.

Somehow as our shopping was concluding soon, I realized the short hair girl was missing. We went looking around for her in the mall and then suddenly there were large crowds running out of the mall. They seemed like to be in a panic. We then spotted the third girl looking depressed again wandering aimlessly and I felt guilty that I didn't spend enough time with her. I was too preoccupied with the first two girls even though I tried to devote some time to her. The second girl grabbed her and told her, that I loved her and that she doesn't need to feel depressed. she also mentioned that there seems to be an emergency happening and there is no time to be depresssed. Seemed like all 4 of us were getting out of the mall again.
